General George Washington crossed the icy Delaware river on Christmas Day 1776  They won 2 war a week later he returned to Trenton to lure British. The American sneaked in and surprised the Hessian while they were sleeping and stole materials .As the Trenton the american took the prisoners. Washington had wants proof to new Brunswick but it was overruled by his offers. 
 
The British to follow until ice formed. Washington’s army had lost more than half of its men to illness, desertion and enlistment expiration. Faltering morale received a badly needed boost from Thomas Paine who was serving as a volunteer aide; the stirring words of his pamphlet The crisis were read to the soldiers on Washington's orders.

Washington had hoped to strike under the cover of darkness, but the difficulties encountered in the crossing delayed the attack until about 8 a.m. on the 26th. The American advance had been spotted earlier by a Tory, who delivered a written warning to all. The colonel, however, was intent on celebrating Christmas and had stuffed the note in his pocket. With a set of more advanced weaponry than the British, the American long rifle is what they used to kill the enemy captains by the sharpshooters these were some of the biggest parts about the sharpshooters and why they were needed.

In order for these two different places to combine forces, they had to make some sort of agreement of peace and that probably takes time and effort to make happen but after they did, they fought alongside each other and won.

While the British occupied Philadelphia, Washington and his army where  hunkered down the harsh for winter at the  Valley Forge. No battle was fought there yet it was the turning into the Revolutionary War
