This experiment is on co2 rockets addresses the relation between the distance the lid travels and the amount of co2 gas produced by the chemical reaction.Important terms to understand are citric acid chemical reaction solubility and reactants.I also have learned alka-seltzer ingredient citric acid and sodium bicarbonate.the information found in this lab will support the link between the distance the cap goes more gas production the cap goes further.
A chemical reaction is when two things or mostly substances combined and change chemically. Some signs of a chemical reaction is bubbles, gas temperature change and sometimes a percipient forms and being effervescent. The parts of a chemical reaction is the reactant which are the two substances mixing and the product is the substance is at the end of the substances stop reacting. Some examples of a chemical reaction in our regular lives is a fire, baking cakes and letting a bike rust outside. These are a couple of examples of a chemical reaction in our regular lives and that is effervescent. The alka seltzer is made of sodium bicarbonate. As we know of sodium bicarbonate is baking soda. Then there is citric acid. When you put the tablet in the water it makes bubbles which is a chemical reaction and the water gets cloudy. When the tablet is fizzing it produces co2 gas. When you drop the tablet in cold water the cold water slows down the production of co2 gas. The warm water dissolves the tablet faster and produces c02 gas faster. Baking soda and vinegar makes bubbles and that is the production of gas. Coke and men-toes produces gas and bubbles and I think this reaction is the building up of gas. When I see rusty nails on the ground I know this is from co2 and moisture. When I bake a chocolate cake the color changes and I know that is a chemical reaction.
