Alexander was born in August 29, 1844 in his parents summer home in Villerest. He was the son of Jeane Madeleine Rollet. He then passed away on September 24, 1924. He had three children. He was a also specialist in the field of toxicology. "To the fatalism which ineluctably follows from anthropological theory, we oppose social initiative." "Justice shrivels up, prison corrupts and society has the criminals it deserves."  An important influence of Dr. Alexander was hygienism.
