Hello. How are you? My name is Kacie Chen. I go to Miller Middle School and am 12 years old. I am going to turn 13 in December.  My family has four members: Mom, dad, my brother, and myself. A couple of my hobbies are playing football (soccer) and doing Vex Robotics. The reason I love to play football (soccer) is because of the competitive factor. I love competing against others to improve my own skills. Vex Robotics is an outside school activity that I do with my friends to compete against other robotics teams. A story that is very enjoyable to hear is the time I went with my friend to a national park. During a hike, my brother dropped his water bottle into the river. The water bottle got caught in a fallen tree and both my dad and my friend’s dad went to retrieve it. Both dads fell on the ground but my friend’s dad ended up retrieving the water bottle. What is a funny story you have heard or been through?

I have one older brother and one younger brother, no sisters, and my family lives in my dad's parent’s house. The sports I do currently are running and wrestling. Running is to stay fit, and wrestling is because I like it. I love playing video games, mostly horror and fighting games. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I went to Indonesia to visit my mom’s family. I had a great time in Indonesia and almost everything was cheaper than in California. I bought a lot of things; makeup, clothing, skin care products, etc. The flight to Indonesia was terrible due to turbulence, but the return flight wasn't that bad. Hello! My English name is Violetta, but a lot of people call me Vivi or Violet. My Chinese name is 葉智薇(ye4 zhi4 wei2). I am 12 years old in 7th grade. There are four people in my house, my mother, father and my brother. In my free time I like to watch TV with my family, go to the nearby park, draw, do extra HW(homework) and  play video games. A quick story about me

One day, while my mother and I were picking my brother up from school. We arrived early, so while my mother jogged laps around the track, I played on the monkey bars. After a few minutes, my hands got sweaty, but I didn’t want to stop. So I slipped and broke my arm. After my father arrived, we went straight to the ER. I spent two days in the hospital and wore a cast for about 4-12 weeks.

I want to share a story with you about when I went to Taiwan. When I was in Kenting, we went to an aquarium and visited many different sea creatures. After we explored and ate, we went to bed. Where do we sleep? We slept next to penguins. It was very cold there, but with warm cotton blankets, I slept okay. That is one of my favorite memories from my Taiwan trip.

Hello! My name is Tyler Shen. I am 7th grader, and I am 13 years old. I am a very active student. I play all different types of sports. My favorite sport is wrestling. I won second place for my weight class this year. I like wrestling because it helps with my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a defensive martial art. What makes it distinct from all of my other sports I play is the skills for Jiu-Jitsu gives me a sense of achievement and determination. I play lots of ball sports too. I play field hockey for the Lightning field hockey club. I am the goalkeeper for my under 14 team. Last spring, I helped my team win the championship for a major West Coast field hockey tournament by stopping 4 out of 5 penalty shots. The last sport I play is basketball. I play point guard for the Swish basketball team. I also help support my Dad, who is a basketball coach at Kennedy Middle School by keeping score and running drills for the past 2 years.

My name is Hanson. I was born in June 6th, 2011, and I am 12 years old, I enjoy reading and playing chess, and often play it on my computer. Like you, I also play the Rubix Cube, although my solving speed is much slower than yours. I also enjoy playing soccer. I live with my parents, and have three sisters; My oldest sister has graduated from Cornell, and currently lives in New york. My 2 other sisters are currently in college. The foods I like include: Noodles, Dumplings, Steamed Buns, Fruits, and Milk Tea.

When I was 9 years old, I found an injured bird that was on the windowsill outside. My family took care of it until it fully healed, and released it.

Hello, my name is Lauren. This year I am 12 years old. There are 4 people in my family, my dad, mom, brother, and I. I like playing video games, making handmade cards, playing with slime, and watching Chinese dramas with my mom. My favorite animal is a bunny.

I want to share with you a funny story that my friend told me. When my friend was little, she was sleeping with her mom when suddenly her mom snored extremely loudly. She told her mom, “Mom! You just snored so loud!” Her mom responded, “I know, I snored so loud I woke myself up! 😂🤣 ” I thought that that was really funny.

I saw your Padlet, and I am curious how many people are in your class. I also like eating noodles, fried chicken, and pudding. I will go to Taiwan for Christmas break. What are really fun things to do in Taiwan?

Hello, my name is Naomi Guo. This year, I am 12 years old, I turn 13 on July 15th. My parents were born in China while me and my brother were born in America. My brother is older than me by 8 years. One of my hobbies is dancing.

A story I have to share with you is one time, my mom, brother and I went to Crater Lake. We passed by a trail and saw many others on it so we decided to check it out. After some time we reached the top and the view was beautiful. But when we went down, the trail looked different, we got lost and it turned out we were going the wrong way so we turned back and finally reached our car.
