This activity is aimed at addressing misconceptions about relative distance between planets

We integrated the mathematics curriculum to a small extent in a way where students reduce the scale by a multiple of 5 thereby allowing for more accessible in class presentation while incorporating division

Additionally, we decided on the scaling as although it also provides greater control and accessibility for teachers it also doesn’t affect the activity as childrens idea of scaling that representation to life would still be scued

misconceptions/wrong with activity - maybe in interpreting the activity and scaling up of the activity’s relative scales to that of reality – you would to go over that in class

addresses misconception – Partially addresses misconception in that it addresses misconceptions about the relative distance of [planets but doesn’t necessarily translate that to the actual scale of the solar system

perhaps address the second part of the misconception with a video that shows the relative distances in relation to a meter?
