Martin Luther King Jr was born on January 15th 1929. His birth name was Michael however he changed it later on in life going with his father’s name Martin. During King's life he showed just how much of a change agent he really was. In 1954 King was a part of a committee called the National Association for the Advancement of colored people which at the time was the leading organization of its kind in the US. In early December 1955 he accepted the role as the leader of the first negro nonviolent protest of modern day times in the US. During his time in this role he managed to change the laws of bus rides allowing white and black people to catch the bus as equals however suffered many horrible things including being arrested, his home being bombed and personal abuse. After many years of protesting for the rights of black people he received many awards at a massive cost. He was arrested more than 20 times and assaulted at least four times. He was named man of the year in 1962 by time magazine and became a world renounced figure.

HOW MUCH OF A CHANGE AGENT IS MARTIN LUTHER KING

King’s work throughout his life has given people a perspective on how they should think about their views on something. King showed people that it is better to have an open mind then a closed one allowing people to help and give their own ideas and how the world should work and many other things. During king’s time he showed what an open mind can do and how can really help something. What he did by protesting with intellect opened the mind of others creating a brighter future for his country. King challenged many people’s views through his intellect instead of using violence. King had a very strong opinion on nonviolence methods. After visiting india with his wife to visit Muhammad Jinnah. while King was there he got heavily influenced by Gandhi another famous change agent on the idea of non violent methods. This helped him get more power for colored people through this time showing how good of an approach it was to challenge the rules through nonviolence. Instead of trying to gain and hold power with violence he argued the fact of racism and rights to get what he wanted. I think many people in society could learn from this by resorting to intellect and talking instead of violence. Clearly King felt this was the way forward and I think he would have many disagreements with the way things are now. King put his well-being at risks instead of others showing how brave he was and how far he would go to get what his people deserved. as sad in an earlier text he suffeed a lot of abuse during his time for his people and his cause.

KINGS WORLDVIEW AND FAITH PERSPECTIVES AND HOW IT HELPED HIM CHANGE THE WORLD

During the time of Martin Luther King rights for colored people were not good. Everything for colored people at this time was not good. King disagreed with this and had belief when others didn’t. this is why he is world renounced today instead of someone else. For everyone else at that time it would not have been good with a lot of racism. He had the belief and bravery to stand up to it and do something about it. During this time, it was a dark period so no one would have believed anything could have been different. This is where the conflict of worldviews between King and everyone else came in. neither colored or non-colored people believed that nothing would change with both sides people having a very close minded view on the way it was. No one saw more but that’s where King was different. He opened the minds of his people showing them the potential they had and what they could and should have stood up for. That was the difference between them and that’s where we first saw people minds open to see the world around them for it really was. All of this coming back to proving why King was truly a radical change agent. This was heavily influenced by Kings father and grandfather who were both pastors at their local church. This religious faith guided King to what he did listening to the way of god to love our neighbors. This is where King took the way of god and did something where others were too afraid to do. King had the bravery, intellect and courage to do what he did. During the protests King relied heavily on the way of god to keep him going and to change other’s mind.

WHAT IS SO INSPIRING ABOUT MARTIN LUTHER KING JR

The reason I and many others find king so inspiring is because of his abilities. For me one of the main assets I look at when I thing about King is bravery. For me this is the most inspirational thing as millions of people don’t have the bravery to do something they want to do. This is why people look up to King because he had the bravery to stand up for what he believed in no matter what happened in the process. He suffered as much as anyone fighting for what rightfully belonged to his people which comes to the big word of equality. King fought for years against racism. Many people look up to him as a inspirational person because of the way he stood up for what he believed in.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Nobelprize.org.
