Celestine has changed through out the book. At the begining she was so happy then she tried to do a good then and got flawed for it and know she is trying to take down Crevan for giving her the 6th branding. Now that she is branded she is getting gross and mean looks and people they liked her don't anymore. Logan, Natasha, and Gavin are beating her up. She was so happy before she got flawed. How is the protagonist resisting, she is trying to argue so she doesn't get flawed. She is failing because she lied and then told the truth so for lying she got flawed but in total, she got burned with the hot metal 5 times to get flawed. She had all these people hate her and so she lied to not get flawed but then she didn't want the flawed old sick man to get in trouble so she told the truth but he died the day before so know she is in trouble when it sounds like she could have just went home.  The main thing that is happining right now is that she is scared becasue she has to go into a room to get her five branding marks. She knows what she did was bad so she is dealing with her consiqenses and she is shakeing but she wont scream or yell becasue she knows Carrick is right outside the door becasue they make the people lisent to then scream so thats why she wont because she had to her it from this guy and it was terrible. They are straping her in a chair so she cant move so they can burn her and they are making it so she is numb. She has only recived three so she has two more to go and one is on her tough. She is trying not to freak out becasue here mom and dad are also watching so she is not all alone. The part that is being controlled is there lives because Celestine was just trying to help a sick old man and now she is behind bars for it and has to lie so she doesn't get flawed but if they find out she was lying she will get flawed. Nothing like this is happing in our world today because you can help anyone without going to jail. The theme in my book right know is Celesintie will be going to court soon to try and go home, to show she is ancient. Celesntie is taking this pretty well her granddad is with her right now trying to help to get her out of there.
