Visit outdoors of Toledo

On arrival in Toledo we went to a viewpoint on the outskirts so we could observe the wonderful architecture of this medieval city. After this we went through the old Jewish neighborhoods that date back to the time of the Spanish Reconquista. We also saw the church of San Juan de los reyes and the prisoners' chains on its walls. Finally, we saw the famous gothic cathedral from inside.

Anecdote without teachers

We went to have dinner at the Ali Kebab, trying to put a lot of tables together so that we could all be together. Then, we went for a walk at the Mariblanca.

Royal gardens and galleries

Today we visited the Royal gardens and galleries. In comparison with the other museum that we went to, this one is really fancy and contains not only paintings but other many things as a royal carriage for example, in order to show the things that surrounded the kings and queens in addition to their portraits.

Canoes

After the interesting day of Toledo, when we arrived in Aranjuez we went to the pier and made three groups to go in canoes. We were paddling against the current and the change was very noticeable when we returned. The most fun part of this activity was "El piqué" between canoes, getting each other wet, although being soaked wasn't very fun.

Warner Day!

On the 28th at approximately 2 o´clock after finishing a workshop related with urbanism we arrived at the theme park "Warner" located in Madrid. There we spent a couple of hours and had a blast both germans and spanish students. After that we decided to leave and have a proper farewell organising a last dinner with all the students of the Erasmus exchange.

Today we went walking through the most important streets and monuments in Madrid. We visited the garden and the royal galleries, and finally the Royal Palace. We saw it in 2 different angles, but this is the best one. We enjoyed a lot the views of the royal palace due to the facade and the trees around

We continue our journey in Madrid visiting the Plaza Mayor, we liked the fact that the wall is painted and the big statue in the middle of the square

We finished our tour in Madrid visiting the Plaza de España, it is at the end of the Gran Via, and following the street you can visit the Royal Palace and the Debod Temple. This square has a big monument in the middle dedicated to the Spanish writer Cervantes and to his books

German students arrival

After a very long waiting this previous weeks, the germans finally arrived at Aranjuez´s train station at 18:35. Our teacher Mr. Diezma was the one chosen to pick them up from the airport of Madrid. After collecting our partners, we decided to go to a bar and spend the time together while watching the football match between Germany and Denmark.

Bike Route

We started the day going to school by bike. When we showed the germans the school, we took the bikes anda went for a route. We were riding our bikes for along one hour and a half. We showed them the orchards and part of the river. When we finished we went for a drink and then to the swimming pool

In the afternoon after the swimming pool we went to the Prince garden to make a gymkana all over the garden. It consisted in some challenges to achieve clues to crack a code. It was really fun and we enjoyed a lot the views and nature of the garden

Museology workshop

A teacher from the university came to the highschool to give us a talk about the development of Aranjuez and of the important buildings of Aranjuez. After this, we had to create a little presentation about our ideal museum and we had to show it to the rest.

We showed them the high school through an activity that consisted of searching for different classrooms according to the given characteristics.

In the morning after the workshop we walked to the royal palace of Aranjuez, there we divided into groups and we went looking at the different rooms and uses that the kings gave them. It was a short visit but it helped us to appreciate the beauty of the palace and run away from the heat.

THE GOODBYE

After a week with our friends they have to return to Germany, at 12:20 we all went to the station with our families. With tears and hugs we say goodbye to our friends. But surely in the future we will see each other again.

Swimming pool

On the second day of Erasmus we spent a large part of the afternoon in one of the municipal swimming pools in our town, Aranjuez. We spent some wonderful hours enjoying the summer sun and the refreshing pool.

As night fell on Wednesday evening we visited a well-known rooftop terrace in the centre of Madrid to watch the sunset views. We were at the círculo de bellas artes, where we spent some quality time together.

On Tuesday we were in Toledo where we visited the underground tunnels. A guide told us a little about the tunnels and took us down to a few. It was a very interesting activity since we have been to Toledo many times and we have never gone down to the tunnels.

On Thursday morning before leaving for Madrid we were doing a gymkhana throughout Aranjuez. In this activity we had a great time because we were able to see places in Aranjuez while showing the Germans what our town was like.

Workshop

Leopoldo showed us the different building structures in Aranjuez along with a map showing the layout of the buildings. Then, on top of that (large) map, we began to create the structure of the buildings with wood following the original lines.
