There is character vs. nature, when the town of Clifton gets struck with diphtheria. There is character vs. society, because Jessie has to go to a whole new different world, and she doesn’t know what’s going on. Lastly there is character vs self, because she deals with homesickness, and she fears that if she doesn’t succeed the children of Clifton are gonna die, and she’s gonna die if she gets found by the Clifton guards.

Jessie deals with this by not freaking out, and trying to stay calm. She deals with going to a whole new “world” by trying to learn about everything to the best of her abilities, and trying to remember everything. Jessie deals with character vs self by trying to stay unnoticed, and she tries to go as quick as she can. When Jessie figured out that Mr. Neely was trying to kill her, she only freaked out for a couple of second before she calmed herself down, and escaped through the window of his apartment complex.

The First is with jasmine and Dillion (His Half brother and his mom). Since Thomas died they think Dillon should own the cowboys and are threatening to file a lawsuit, the next is his team in football. Their really just mean to Ryan, and they don’t mix well together 

Ryan is not the best at dealing with things so his conflicts just continue on. For example with Markham and Ryan that kinda went on for a while and he do anything. Ryan got scared of Markham what he said sometimes. And when something happened Ryan would try to look cool in front his team. An example of this is when Ryan pounced on Jackson calling him stupid. He did this because he thought Jackson was humiliating him and Ryan just wanted to be cool.

He also does mean things to Ryan like tapping a diaper to his locker. Ryan’s other character vs character conflict is Ryan vs jasmine. Jasmine wants to take away the Dallas cowboys from Ryan. Jasmine succeeds in this process. Ryan’s character vs self conflict is that he doesn’t believe in himself. For example, he doesn’t think that he can be a starter on his team.

Would make sense that it would be making it less perfect and awesome. Another side character, Shelly, is mourning the loss of her boyfriend. I would say this book has a lot of internal conflict, as well as conflict with society. (Mainly because of Paine.)

 She took the job on dusty muleman’s gambling boat, the coral queen, and is Noah’s spy on the boat. She is currently attempting to bust her boss. During the first half of the story, Noah and his sister Abbey are in trauma due to their father ending up in jail multiple times. His mother, Donna, has made plans. those are long gone. Jessie has thought she had been living in the 1800’s. This is because society and her parents thought it was a good idea. But then we figure out that the people who run the place, or society, don’t give the people their proper health medicines and this was not how it was supposed to go. Now Jessie’s family members are getting sick and on the edge of death. This is why Character vs Society is the main conflict. One more conflict is Character vs nature. If you think about it, nature refers to the environment and the land or nature around them where they live is basically a lie. This is why Character vs Nature also works.

Jessie is dealing with the conflict pretty well. She is persevering everywhere she goes and making the job right. For example, she needed water pretty badly. This led her to going to a gas station. Jessie got all confused about the freezer and why everything was so expensive. But she still went with the flow and bought the water. This proves that she deals with the conflict pretty well.

I think this because Amal is against society because society is okay with Jawad making people work for him and not doing anything about it. I think this could also classify as a character vs character conflict because it can also be Amal against Jawad Sahib. Because she disrespected him, she now has to work for him. This is because of him/society which is why it’s either character vs society or character vs character.

Amal is dealing with this better than most people would. At first, she hated how Jawad Sahib would make people do this and how society hasn’t helped. The reason he is feeling uneasy is because he has to play her son Dillion and he he doesn’t beat Dillion then he will be embarrassed because, Ryan and Dillion are fighting over their dads will. That’s only because he has passed and gave Ryan something special. 

Another one is character vs character. That’s because Ryan’s mom has allowed Ryan to play football but is still very skeptical on Ryan playing football because, she does not want him to get hurt. She also thinks he could die!    One more is that he dose not really like his coach for football he wants to try out for quarterbacks but they will not let him. They think that he will be good at wide receiver but he dose not like it. Usually Ryan handles the conflicts well but not always. She has to face this because she is always so afraid that people are going to take her back to Clifton. So she is afraid of the society. 

            She responds to the character versus nature with extreme scared feelings. She is afraid for the life of her sister and her friends. She knew that this was all up to her. The way she responded to the character versus society was fear. She was afraid of everyone that she looked at. Then when she gets extremely close to someone she starts to scream and is just terrified.

One of the conflicts is obviously melody vs her disability, she cannot do normal human stuff. Melody has to be fed because of her disability and she can’t walk. Another is melody vs Clair, Clair is a pain for melody and it’s all because of how she looks and that’s because of her wheelchair. She has so many conflicts just because her disability and how she looks. If she was not disabled then she would have more friends and she would not have as many conflicts,and there would not be enough content for a book

Jessie is figuring out how to deal with the conflict by learning it during the adventure. There is Character vs. Self, Character vs. Nature, and Character vs Society. Melody doubts herself and thinks she won’t be able to do things normal people do. This is a Character vs. Self conflict. Melody has cerebral palsy that limits her to her wheelchair. This is a Character vs. Nature conflict. In the quiz tryouts Mr. Dimming thinks she accidentally knew all the questions. The rest of her class thinks the same thing as Mr. Dimming. This is a Character vs. Society conflict. 

Melody slowly gets over her doubt and realizes with the support of her family and friends she can accomplish anything. While her cerebral palsy limits her body Melody finds ways to communicate, like using the Medi-Talker. She also used her letter board in the beginning. Slowly, Mr. Dimming and the rest of the class acknowledge that they underestimated Melody. Noah deals with this problem by buying fushia dye then sneaking into the boat via crate, and than they go into the bathroom and dump the fushia dye in the toilets and flushing it down the drain into the waste tank. Another conflict Noah faces is that Dusty Muleman has been illegally dumping waste into perfectly clean water. This makes the water unable to swim through. This is also killing some of the animals who live in the water. Claire always teases Melody and reminds Melody of what she can’t or, isn’t allowed to do. The second conflict is character vs self. It is character vs self, because Melody is dealing with a battle internally. The battle she fights is called cerebral palsy. The third conflict is character vs society. It is character vs society, because people think Melody doesn’t belong. People think Melody is weird. The last conflict is character vs nature. It is character vs nature, because Melody can’t control herself having cerebral palsy. In other words it’s just her nature.

     Melody is dealing with her character vs character conflict by, trying to be nice to Claire at the beginning of the book. Closer to the end of the book she is less kind to Claire, because Claire repeatedly bullied Melody. In other words being kind didn’t work so she stopped trying so hard to be friends with Claire. Melody is dealing with character vs self by, working through her cerebral palsy. She deals with her character vs society conflict by, trying to be normal. She does this by getting a Medi-Talker named Elvira. She uses Elvira to help her speak to kids in her class, and people outside of school. Melody is dealing with her character vs nature conflict by, working to pretend she can do everything normally, and ignore her cerebral palsy.

     Noah is dealing with his dad by going to the jail to talk to him most days. He goes there and his dad would help tell Noah how to help stop Dusty Muleman. And he has not done much with Dusty but he thinks the bald guy has something to do with it. He thinks this because Lice’s wife told him that the bald head guy was there talking to Lice.

The way she deals with her problems are different than most people. Melody deals with not being able to talk by getting a Medi-talker.      My character is “disrespectful” to the village landlord. So she has to be his maid to pay off her family’s death. She misses her family a lot. Her master Narseen Baji is nice to her. Once she figures out that there is a library, she starts reading books from it. She loved to read books back at home and wanted to keep reading.

Jessie reacts to both conflicts in a similar way. Jessie reacts to the new world in a confused way because she’s used to the old ways of 1840. Jessie doesn’t know what she’s doing with the “phone” or where she is, she acts like she knows what she’s doing so no one will notice her.  Noah responds to the first conflict by not doing anything, because jasper is clumsy and hurts himself when he beats up Noah.
