Denis and Francis: They said that they could always find a friend in Turkey. People were always kind and respectful. They liked turkey because of the friendly people and culture.

Denis and Francis: They traveled by car and camel. They said it felt like taking a step back into the 13th century. They were captured by the descendants of mongol warriors who let them go after their captures saw they were not part of the organization that was always attacking them.  
Similarities between them: Both Marco Polo, and Denis and Francis used a sort interesting way of getting help when they wanted it. Polo used a golden tablet. Denis and Francis: They had some shelter from the cold and they also traveled some by vehicle. 
Similarities between them: They both traveled by pack mules, horses, and camels. Denis and Francis: Also traveled by camel and some by car or truck. The people mainly lived by trading goods and through making big industry advancem. 
Similarities between them: The people of the Desert were required by law both then and still now to have their names posted on the door of their houses so the government could keep track of how many people lived in each household. Denis and Francis: They city was still a bustling city but it had way more modern technology and they tried to avoid places like McDonald's during the trip. The people of Sumatra where also not cannibals anymore.
Similarities between them: They both sailed by cargo ship to Sumatra. The people of Sumatra had tattoos that they would use to decorate their bodies.
