Harriet
What I saw while watching the movie:

Minty was a slave living on a farm. She was married to a freed slave. Her husband was a free slave. Her master didn’t set her free to go live with her huband. She worked on the farm all day nonstop. One day her master died, and she was under the rule of the son. She wanted to be set free to go live with her husband, so she decided to escape. She started running away to seek her freedom. She was supposed to run away with her husband, but he was captured. On the way, her slave master runs after her and is about to catch her. She manages to escape through jumping in the river off the bridge. She runs and runs till she reaches freedom in Pennsylvania. She meets a man that sets her free and protects her. She is send to a beautiful place to stay at, and she gets a paid job. After one year has passed, she sends a note to her husband, but he never replies. She decides to go back to her husband and family to get them to freedom. She gets a freedom name and a fake certificate, and starts her journey home. She gets back home, and finds out that her husband married another woman after she escaped without him. She doesn’t want to go back to her freedom without helping anyone, so she decides to take 9 other family members with her to Pennsylvania. She takes them to freedom, then decides to go back and get the rest of the slaves. She goes back and takes all the slaves at the farm and other farms to freedom, except for her sister because she works in the master’s family. She goes back to get her sister, but she refuses because her son is still inside. She goes back to Pennsylvania, and is followed by her master. Her master and his men go to Pennsylvania, and a fight happens, resulting in the death of the woman that kept her safe. Harriet then runs away to Canada to be safe and find a way to get all the other slaves to freedom. A meeting is held in Canada, and they believe that the only way to get the freedom of the slaves is through a civil war. Harriet says that she is willing to fight for the slaves and get them all free until the last drop of blood in her veins. Harriet goes back to get her mother and father, and then her neice.

She succeeds, and takes more slaves with her on the journey to the land of the free. She lets the slaves escape, and she faces her master and his helper. The master kills his helper, and Harriet doesn’t kill the master, instead she takes his horse and runs away. Two years into the civil war, Harriet becomes a leader of the war in South Carolina. She frees over 750 slaves, and dies on the age of 91.

Repeated things during the movie:

Singing the same song multiple times. The memory flashes she gets. Her praying to God for guidance. Harriet going back and forth to bring slaves into freedom. Crossing the bridge. Gun scenes. Getting on the boat.
