I value justice more in society because with justice everyone gets fair treatment --- innocents are proven innocent and the guilty are proven guilty. For example, A thief with a poor and abusive background steals from a shop, who will mercy side with? The thief because the thief is pitiful but what about the shop owner, is mercy given to him? Mercy is about being fair and to prevent future mishaps.

Mercy is all about the compassion and sympathy for human beings. On the other hand, justice upholds the law in which holds accountability on the person who did a bad deed. Mercy is something that can be taken advantage of—especially the trust among people. Mercy doesn't take up the accountability of a person, rather, the person that did a bad thing can remain unscathed. That is absolutely why I remain on the side of justice because mercy is just a virtue that needs to be partially coordinated at the side of justice. Yes, I acknowledge that mercy is something that we need to uphold justice. However, that does not mean that mercy overpowers justice. Instead, justice will serve as the reminder of law. In conclusion, justice desires accountability for the wrongdoings of one person which is why I side with justice.

Since justice guarantees equality, fairness, and accountability, I place a higher value on it in society. Without justice, society would descend into anarchy and people would lose faith in institutions and the law. People who experience justice are more confident that wrongdoing will be dealt with and that everyone will be treated fairly and according to the same standards.

But mercy is also vital because it gives justice humanity and compassion. A society that balance justice and mercy fosters harmony , while one that only practices justice may become overly harsh. While mercy softens it with kindness, justice creates order.

I value Justice more. Because justice is more fair rather than mercy. I get that you fel sympathy but if you keep on choosing to give mercy, people will take advantage of it. They'll probably not care about the rules or laws since they know if they just act pitiful, the judge or people will give mercy to them. And for example, a woman with three children killed her abusive husband. I know that she and her children went through a lot, but she doesn't have the rights to kill a person. So, she also deserves punishment, like rehabilitation. (I don't have enough time)

I believe justice is more important because it makes things fair and safe for everyone. People know that they cannot do anything wrong because they know they will face consequences, and this helps stop them from hurting others. Justice keeps the innocent safe and punishes those who are guilty. Justice also teaches respect and discipline because it shows that every action has a result. Without justice, this world would be unfair, and a person would never be afraid to act in the wrong way.

I value justice more than mercy because it creates a fair and stable foundation for everyone. Justice means that rules are applied equally, and people are held accountable for their actions. This ensures that everyone understands the consequences of their choices and that no one is above the law, which protects the entire community and promotes a sense of order and safety.

While mercy is a kind impulse, prioritizing it over justice can sometimes lead to unfairness. If consequences are constantly forgiven, it can weaken the rules and hurt those who have been wronged. Justice, by focusing on what is right and deserved, provides a clear and consistent standard that actually benefits society as a whole by discouraging harmful behavior.

I value justice more than mercy because justice serves as the foundation of order, fairness, and equality in society. It holds individuals accountable for their actions and ensures that rights are protected without bias. While mercy is important, relying too much on it may lead to partiality or the neglect of consequences, which can encourage repeated wrongdoing. Justice, on the other hand, provides consistency and impartiality, allowing people to trust that everyone will be treated fairly under the same standards.
