  • Connecting computer science and coding concepts across the curriculum will show students the importance of coding and CS in all aspects of life.

  • Students could create a math game app or an app in another specified subject area. You could set requirements of the app based on your standards.

    I plan to use app design as an activity to expose students to how much work goes into the apps they use everyday and get them thinking about how things work.


    I have learned with my coding experience that I like a challenge. Coding is like trying to solve a puzzle. A lot of planning goes into the process before, during, and after the initial building of the app/program.

  • Students could create an app with them choosing their favorite authors to encourage other students to read books by that same author.

  • Computer science is a valued skill in the world today. Students would be better equipped to handle the changing world they live in.


    1. Used to create presentations in class. I would use this a lot in my history classes.

    2. Instead of just jumping in you need to learn to follow a specific set of directions in a specific order to complete your task.
