On Writing: I've always enjoyed composition and journaling when I was younger. In high school, I would always write last minute papers and would never revise them. I found out quickly in undergrad that this was not the best strategy. Now that I am writing more technical and scientific pieces, I am still struggling to be cohesive, yet concise. I enjoy metaphors, flowing descriptive imagery, and attempts at humor. I find that I write best in pieces--late into the night, with coffee and headphones in.

Writing: I enjoy writing, mainly for myself. I've always enjoyed keeping journals or lists. I especially love to keep lists. During high school I did not enjoy writing as much because our teachers liked our papers to be very cookie cutter. I like writing under pressure because I feel like it helps me write and think of ideas, whereas with free time I feel like I cannot think of anything.

On Writing: I like to think of myself as creative so writing is a chance for me to get my creativity out in the open, I cannot write when there are distractions present because I get off topic too easily. I like to write when I am alone and in quiet places.

On Writing: Writing for me is difficult unless I can become passionate about the subject. If that is the case however, I have been known to write a little too much. It comes in more of a stream of conscience format rather than a structured essay when that happens, and humanities classes tend to be harder to me for it. Buckling down and writing the assignment is probably the hardest part for me and I fall victim to the worst kind of procrastination when I have a writing assignment that Im looking forward to.

On Writing: I have always loved to write. Whether it be lists, journals, notes, or stories for our school yearbook, I have always enjoyed writing. I think I do the best at writing when I come up with a cool title. The title is what draws a person into a paper and what makes me want to keep writing my paper.

On Writing: When I was younger, writing was easy for me especially if I was expected to make up or tell a fictional story. I liked being able to arrange words in a way that people could understand, relate to, and enjoy. It was also a very easy way for me, as an incredibly shy person, to connect with people without having to leave my comfort zone. As I got older and grammar and mechanics were introduced, I began to struggle with writing since few of the rules made sense to me and I could not understand why many or any of them were necessary. This dampened my enthusiasm for writing and lead me to stop writing fiction all together, since I felt I was no longer capable of writing anything even remotely interesting or even good. Recently, I have also learned and enjoyed writing about subjects I am interested in, usually involving dictators and history.

On writing: I enjoy writing about subjects that matter to me, but if I find the topic to be bland it takes me forever to write the paper. During high school i enjoyed my 12th grade English class because most of the time we got to choose our own topics. I mostly write to get my feelings out and to help myself relax.

On writing: I don't always enjoy writing but when I have an interesting topic to write about I can keep writing about it for awhile. I like to be given a topic to write about because I feel like my imagination is not that great so it is hard to come up with ideas to write about. I have always enjoyed writing when I'm given a prompt because I like to research what I am writing about.
