In Great Britain, 1774, the British government and the king, George the III, created the intolerable acts to punish and order colonists who had done bad deeds, The intolerable acts (also known as the Coercive acts) were made after the Boston Massacre and Boston Tea Party act, after seeing problems like these the government decided to make the Intolerable acts. There were 5 intolerable acts and all 5, were supposed to punish and order colonists. The Boston tea party was when the Colonists had dressed up as the Native Americans and threw tea over board because they didn't like the taxes on the tea, glass, and paper, there was also the Boston Massacre where colonists were insulting British Soldiers.

This happened because of the Boston tea party and because of the Boston massacre. The first Act didn't let colonists get hay from Charlestown to feed their starving horses.

This act gave power to people to be able to send trials in colonies to Great Britain to be heard under British Judges, many times when people were sent to be heard under the judges they couldn't even talk! All they had was someone who told the judges that she/he was innocent by explaining what happend.

The 5th intolerable act, "The Quebec act", was created on June 22 1774. However this is CONSIDERED as a intolerable act by the 13 colonists, It didn't seem to be part of the intolerable acts at first. The Quebec acts purpose was to give french canadians religious freedom and recovered the civial french law. Now you may be wondering "what does this have to do with the intolerable acts?", well on the colonists side, this act disabled a lot of the Western claims for colonists near the coast, and it angered them quite a lot.

It was on June 2. The colonists MUST shelter the soldiers, even if they liked it or not. The acts all happened after the Boston tea party because the king didn't like the way the colonists had faked a Native American thing. The king then got mad,n

King George the 3rd had the power because he had grown in the family of kings. King George also had power because he had the control of the Acts. Along with this King George had the power to control the colonists because he could control the acts too. King George could also control the British because he was the king. Colonists didn't really like the king ruling the U.K. so they started the Boston tea party which later on to the intolerable Acts. The colonists didn't have as much power as the king. Before the intolerable acts, they were able to do a lot of things, with the items available to them they initiated the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea party, however once the intolerable acts came, there power, once as big as a building, was reduced to nothing but a speck of dust.
