         <description><![CDATA[<div>They day of October 31, 1451 Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy. As a kid he grew up with his father working at a cheese stand, his father was also a wool weaver. His mom was an apprentice and was a business agent for some families in Genoa. As a kid he grew up in a middle-class family with three brothers and one sister.</div>]]></description>

As a kid Cortes came from a fairly famous family and his father was a captain in the Spanish army. Cortes heard of Christopher Columbus' discoveries in the new world. He wanted to travel and see new lands. He also wanted to make his fortune and fame.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the day of May 20th 1506 at the age of 55 Christopher Columbus died from a Congestive heart failure. Throughout his life people debated if he was a good or bad person, 50% thinks he is a good person 50% does not. While his ship the  Santa Maria was found off of the water of Haiti, as for his other ships no one really knows what happened to the Nina, and people know far less what happened to the Pinta. In the end one out of the three ships were discovered.</div>]]></description>

Before he died he did a lot of stuff good and bad that change the world. He Conquered Peru and overthrew the Inca and killed the king, and discovered what we call now the pacific ocean. The people who killed Pizarro made the people of Inca mad. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On the day of December 2, 1547 the famous conquistador died at the age of 62 from pleurisy. In 1541, he decided to participated in an unsuccessful expedition to Algiers where he nearly got his life token away when his ship was sunk. He died on December 2, 1547 in Spain when he got pleurisy and died. He died at Castilleja de la Cuesta, Seville province. Cortes died a villain and wealthy but an embittered man.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When Columbus was a teenager he got a job as a merchant ship. He stayed at sea until about 1470, when his ship got attacked by French privateers as his ship sailed north along Portuguese coast. A while later Columbus appealed to the kings of Portugal, France, and England but they all denied his request to voyage because they thought he was crazy. After 10 years king Ferdinand and queen Isabella of Spain agreed to finance his journey. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Columbus set sail on August 3rd in 1492. Columbus was looking for a quicker and safer passage to the Indies to trade for spices. Columbus set off with 39 men and three ships, the Nina, which was originally named the Santa Clara, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. Columbus's favorite ship out of the three is the Nina. Columbus returned to Spain with gold, spices and riches.</div>]]></description>

Pizarro and Balboa discovered what is now the Pacific Ocean, but Balboa  noticed it first.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1530, Pizarro decided to go to to Panama. then he took his army in 1531 and sailed down to Peru, landing at the Tumbes. He led his army up the Andes Mountains and on November 15, 1532, reached the Inca town of Cajamarca. He killed Atahuallpa who was the 13th and last emperor of the Incas. This made Pizarro who he is now.</div>]]></description>

Cortes decided to settle to the town Azua, he served as a notary for several years. Cortes Joined an expedition of Cuba led by Diego Velázquez in 1511.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some things that motivated Cortes to conquer the Aztecs is that Cortes wanted fame and glory, he knew they had riches, and he knew that people didn't like the Aztecs so many people were willing to join forces with Cortes to conquer the Aztecs. Cortes soon returned to Tenochtitlan with a large army of his allies, the Tlaxcala. He laid siege to the city and eventually conquered the city and with it the Aztec Empire. Cortes had many advantages against the Aztecs two were that Cortes had weapons that the Aztecs didn't have and that smallpox had already killed 25% of the Aztec population.</div>]]></description>
