The chapters represent milestones and the pages represent the other ages.

This TED Talk is related to the hashtag, Why I Write because the speaker states how he spent years trying to find book pages that represent the different ages. He wanted to create a book that represents life itself. He also wants to create his own book by following the advise of the writers who wrote about each age.

The speaker wanted to address how when he turns 44 he knows that it will be a good year, not only because a book told him so, but because he decided to write that year. That some books can be relate and true about some people, but others might not be the same as a book says. Some people will experience something at a certain age while some do. That we can't tell what our future shall hold. You can however start your future like the author wrote.
The speech is connected to #WhyIWrite because the author explained how he used writing, which he knows its his future because he chose it to be. The author also explains that we can't guess our future but we can write the futures of fictional characters. Also the speaker was an author so that is obviously connected to the hashtag.
