He could issue his policy.

At the beginning, he though tread the conquered city kindly is the way to restore the order, so he use kindness to show the influence. He influence something in this way such as schools and stores reopened. At last, he realized this policy didn't work. He used violence to govern the city. Violence became the way he show his power and influence.

In a certain degree, I agree with him, because we cannot give up choosing violence when we govern. Leaders should have both award and violence to process effective government.

Unfortunately, he used his authority to start unfinished wars where many soldiers died.

He also had an influence on people. We could see how the citizens believed him. Especially, after his safety proclamations, citizens started to build up the city and dreamed for a better life.

I disagree with his methods. Because being a leader is obviously a hard task. It requires the leader to deal with many people, citizens or soldiers, and leads them to the right path, the peaceful one, not to give them hope, then to destroy it. Consequently, he will lose his influence because of misusing his power or changing his ideology.

From my perspective, I will make the same choice. In a war, violence could always be a choice or alternated choice to deal with problem. I don't mean that mass killing is a way to deal with any problems in wars. Violence is not just simple mass killing, leaders need to make strategies which make violence effective. Also, conquered cities have many problems and to deal with the relationship with citizens, totally giving up violence is wrong. To manage people, reward and punishment should coexist.

The different thing is that it may be hard for me to make up my mind in a ruthless way like him, but I agree with him. He mentioned he burnt to the ground and just remained on house to mark the spot. Also, he function guerrillas as his men's target practice. I never thought to deal with a war in such a way, even a mass killing.

From my survey, I found that most people prefer their to be innovative or visionary, but they also want leaders to follow laws, provide peaceful life for people and don't do decisions which is too innovative. Actually, people want a leader which is combination of ordinary, visionary and innovative leader.

The thing I learned is that not that much people want to fight against Trump. He do is more crazy, but people also respect his decision, try to consider the problems in their president's way, and make their country great again together.

Their views are same with mine. From my perspective, this is because this is not a era for war and countries don't have to use violence to get source and development. People prefer to get what they want through some peaceful ways like negotiation, proper competition and so on. Therefore, many people want their leader to be innovative but also traditional.

For example, when I was in Marquette university union we had asked more than three students about what kind of power did they prefer? Soft power and traditional power?
Most of the student choose soft power because they think there is a better way to influence other people without killing or hurting anyone. What is more, they think Barack Obama is much better than Donald Trump for more than one reason.Like Barack Obama when he uses to be the President of the United States he has the power, and he knows how to convince American people. On the other hand, Donald Trump has the ability, but he couldn't convince other people.
In my opinion, it is not essential to have the power to convince someone.Because if the people love you, they will do everything for you like Martin Luther King he doesn't have the ability, but he changes the community, and he stops the discrimination in the USA
