Our school provides opportunities for leadership and encourages our students to take on roles of responsibility. We do this through choosing house captains, student leaders, road patrol monitors, activators and wet day monitors. Our senior children are expected to be excellent role models for the younger children, supporting them where needed. We foster a tuakana- teina relationship in our students.

 

 

 

Community Contribution - Both between schools and inside our own school, we aim to work together as a collective. There is a quote that says "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts". This means that by working together effectively, we can achieve much more than what we would as individuals.

 

Communication - We strive to be able to talk to anybody else in our community with confidence. Year 9 students should feel comfortable talking to senior students, and by doing so they learn from people who have experience. Seniors talking to juniors will also gain new insight into the future of their school, and hear from the people who look up to them.

 

Innovation - Every day, we are looking for new ways to do things, and improve our school. There is always more than one way to go about solving a problem, and by doing it in a way you might not suspect, discoveries can be made which change school life for the better.

 

Aspiration - Through our motto: "Confidence with creativity", we bring the future into our vision, laying down pathways for students which they can aspire to. The opportunities that Long Bay College provides are what shows students what they have the power to be.
