Rudolf Vrba, is the one who escaped Auschwitz. He arrived at Auschwitz on June 30, 1942 and escaped on April 7, 1944. Oświęcim, Poland. And the Europe Areas. He is known very well as he escaped Auschwitz and saved thousands of Jews.

Rudolf was born on September 11,1924. He was one of four children. At age 15 he was excluded from school due to him being a Jew. He worked as a labourer until he was 17 and then the Germans told him to get ready for deportation to Poland. He was put into a concentration camp, and was moved to Auschwitz on June 30, 1942 and then escaped on April 7, 1944. "From the testimony of survivors such as Elie Wiesel, it seems clear that the Jewish masses assumed that something truly horrible was in store for them.” He said later in his life

Rudolf saved more than 200,000 lives when he escaped Auschwitz. He did this by “halting the mass deportation of Hungry Jews”. He did the unthinkable when he did this, no one ever would have even attempted this because of the consequences. If he would have got caught he could have been beaten or even killed right then and there. The book up at the top is about him and his journey throughout the war.
