Our group chose Martin Luther King Jr. because he made a HUGE impact for people. Back then when he was alive, there was segregation..and he did not like it so he decided to make a change. Martin held protest to stop segregation and believed that everyone one should be treated the absolute same..and for that..he was killed. Tubman helped rescue over 70 slaves, in about 13 expeditions. She took them on a 90-mile route northeast through the underground railroad. She made repeated trips from Pennsylvania to Maryland over the next decade.To make it easier for the escaping slaves she traveled months through the cold winter nights. She also was a leading figure in the abolitionist movement. Harriet also served as a spy for the US army during the civil war.
