Is brown just like my moms

I see my dark brown eyes that hold so much hope for a better tomorrow for me and my family, I see somebody that overcame many obstacles but never lost his smile, and I see the scar from the time I crashed my bike.  My cousins were trying to teach me how to drift for the first time when we were riding our bikes. But I crashed. But it was still fun day tho.

My face is a like representation of everything that I have gone through, my family’s american dream, my culture, and the way people view me without knowing me, 

How much I have changed throughout the years. I still see the pain and worry in my eyes that I never allow anyone to see. But I also see someone who is happy and optimistic.

Somebody that is proud of where he comes from and how far he has come. Somebody who's  honestly trying the best they can.

My dad
he always made sure we were doing good and on the right path. He has always been there for us when things get tough and in our best moments.

My mom
She does everything for me and my siblings, she does all the little things for us, she is always there for us, she always notices when we are having a bad day. She always finds a way to cheer us up. She is always there when we need somebody to talk to, she always make sure we were taken care of 

My mom has allowed to feel loved and understood, she always wanted the best for me and my siblings

Carne Asadas 
Some of the best memories I have growing was spending time with my family and having a carne asada. All of my cousins would be together and play. I was really happy because we are all together. This was a happy space where everyone is  laughing, eating, reminiscing, and listening to music together.
Having a Carne asada has allowed my family and friends to have a day to just relax and forgot about the worries we have, it allowed us to have a moment of peace.

A lot of faith in La Virgin de Guadalupe and San Judas because of my Abuelita Chela

 Since I was little she taught me to never lose faith no matter how difficult things seem to be. She taught me how to pray and we would often pray for better days together when I was little.

Whenever I pray when I am going through something I feel that I am still connected with my Abuelita Chela even though she is no longer here. 
Because of her I will never lose my hope for a better tomorrow, I will keeping work hard and keep all the lessons she taught me in my heart until my last day

my prayer cards in my wallet at all time that both my abuelitas gave me. Abuelita Chela and Abuelita Tersa. The prayer cards that were blessed by a priest they have the images of San Judas and San Pedro.

They gave it to me so San Judas and San Pedro can keep me safe.  I still feel connected to both of them even though they are both no longer with me physically. These cards to me represent the love they had for me and wanting to keep me safe.

A rough diamond that was overlooked for many years because of its appearance and its rough past but lucky was discovered by the right people who helped show the world its true value  

A dream of helping my community. I want to help people achieve their dreams, no matter how wild or crazy they sound. I want to help people, I just want to make this world a happier place.

I think my collage represents things that I have always been interested in and loved as a kid. As a kid I loved Pokemon, Mario Kart , learning about animals and cool places, and playing with Legos. Some of the best memories that I have growing up was playing Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros with my brothers and my cousins. We used to be obsessed with video games and competing against each other. We all wanted to be the best and beat each other. And these games got really competitive at times. But they're some of the best memories I have. We all enjoyed being around each other and laughing. 

In elementary school some of the best memories I had involved playing with legos, Pokemon cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and Power Rangers.I made a lot of my friends because of Pokemon and Legos. Some of my best friends that I still have till this day like my friend Carlos and Daniel. I became friends because of our love of pokemon and legos at that time.  We used to like building cool things out of legos, like spaceships, warships, airplanes, tanks, tall buildings, and everything that will come to our mind. 

As a kid I always loved learning and reading. Some of my favorite books growing up were reading the national graphic kids edition magazines. I love reading about animals and cool places around the world. I always wanted to travel when I got older to travel to these places and see them in person. and I think I developed this Love for Learning and reading because of my grandparents. I used to watch documentaries with them all the time and I became fascinated with learning about ancient history, different parts of the world, different cultures, and animals that I have never seen before. I just love learning. And hopefully one day I'm able to create that same love for learning for my students. I want them to find what they're interested in and continue to grow and develop as lifelong learners. 

And I picked up a lot of phrases that spoke to me like embrace the best parts of life, past present and future, equity, unique, dream big, lessons, Innovative and resourceful. Big Dreamers unleash their imagination to see what might be.
