  • Ged lost his mom on the day he was born. I never experienced something like that which I’m thankful for. But he doesn’t seem that worried about it since he looks like a very independent person which sometimes I am, other times I’m not. 
  • He got renamed at age 13, his original name was Duffy but then it got changed to Ged. That was a bit confusing and he didn’t seem confused at all.
  • He’s a wizard! With powers! By far, I don’t have powers which I wish I had since I love fantasy because “I get to escape from reality,” that’s my saying. Plus he gets to go on all these cool adventures which I wish I had experienced.

  • During the story, I really emphasize one of my main characters, Digory since his mom is really ill and she has a possibility of dying. I know what Digory is going through because I was in a similar case where my mom had to get a hip surgery and I was really worried about her but it’s not as bad as Digory’s case where his mom has a possibility of dying. 
  • One thing I never had experience in that Digory has is have an insane, uncle. All my uncles are regular people while Digory’s Uncle Andrew is a maniac & sometimes acts stupid. For example, Andrew found a way to go in-between worlds by touching a yellow ring and he tricked another one of the main characters, Polly, to touch one of the rings and she vanished. What type of guy does that? He doesn’t know what’s in the other place and he simply just sacrifices the child of their next door neighbors. Plus, he says that he can’t go because of his health and he’s too old but to me, he seems perfectly fine. It didn’t seem he had any health problems but he’s just old. But still, what type of guy does that?
  • I wonder how the story would have gone if Digory never met Polly, or if Digory never had a crazy uncle because without his uncle, Digory & Polly probably wouldn’t of found a way to go into another world & all of the crazy, adventurous never would’ve happened.
