In ISB we have alot of mental health services like we have a whole office for counselours and these conselors mainly all have a background in psychology. What the conselors do in our school is that when kids need help or have questions they could just walk in and ask the conselors, for they would ask you to explain why it is bothering you and what people around you can do to help. They also give you some advice to help you cope like some breathing teqniques if your feeling scared about something or maybe a trick to keep your mind off of something. Another service that our school includes are like programs and clubs that you can go to that all are based on one problem and then you can share about how it affects you and what your doing to cope with it (Something like that.)

Life as a TCK is rather oxymoronic. You speak one thing at home, and another at school. There is little overlap. Everything from your ideals, to the food you eat, to the religion you believe in ... it all differs. And the best way to overcome these seemingly diametrically opposing ideals is to talk about them. Express yourself, and battle through these different identities, because they are part of what makes you you.

The voices of third-culture kids are critical in opening up ideas because of the cultures that they can share. Schools can do this through different clubs, panels, or the everyday classroom. As a TCK, the most unusual part would be coming home from school. At school, there is a wide variety of cultures that people can identify with. At home, your parents culture is influencing you and changing your ideas.

We also have an advisory program that aims to create a safe environment for people to share and talk. However, the culture ISB has, does not promote the importance of mental health. It's quite competitive, and you should always be doing something (sports, clubs, etc). There's never a time to rest.

CC - ISB - Prompt #2
Every year, our school sends out a survey asking about students' mental health, which students are expected to answer honestly. This survey information is entirely private to the student and to the counselors. Students can go to the counselors anytime.

We also have an intensive studies class for students who need help.

I'm not sure if this counts as a therapy, but in middle and high school, we go on trips called the EWC or GCW. It's a chance for students to work with each other and to spend time outside of school.
