Right now, Habo is freaked out about jumping across the train cars. I wanted to make note of this because so far, Habo has escaped death, jumped on a moving train, and sprinted as fast as he could to run from Alasiri. And that was just in the last few pages. I know it must be scary to risk your life jumping across two trains, he has already escaped death hundreds of times.

On this page, Habo is thinking about what he will actually do when he gets to Dar es Salaam. I predict that Habo will just beg for money and although Dar es Salaam is safer than Mwanza, he will have to hide. First of all, hiding is one of the things he has been doing his whole life, and he may even feel the instinct to hide whenever danger comes around instead of run or fight.

At this stage in the book, this is when Habo finally sneaks into the old mans yard. He notices that the man might be in some sort of trance. However, before he goes and takes the food he considers the fact that he may be a magana in a trace which is very dangerous to him because of his albinism. He does not want to be turned into some medicene that gives people luck. I think that this was very smart of Habo to consider this idea before he came up to the old man first. If the man was a magana and saw him take the food, he would probably be killed. The magana would sell him to rich people and make a profit off of himself. I think his life could have ended horribly if he ran into a magana instead of a weak old man. Therefore, I think Habo is very intelligent and thoughtful for thinking the way he did.

Habo is super excited that he gave him this offer and accepts his offer to do chores. I think that this is vry odd for a kid his age to be so excited to be able to do chore. When my parents assign me chores, I think that it is so boring and hate doing them. But this shows how desprete Habo really is and how much he wants to live in a house so bad. I think that it is sad and pathetic that a kid my age enjoys doing chores and has to worry about where he is going to find shelter to sleep in every single night.

Habo is really lucky that this man is kind enough to be willing to let Habo stay there, this is almost exactly what Habo needed and this is very fortunate that this man is not mad and is actually really nice even though he had just tried to steal his food. This is a great partnership and also its perfect the he is blind so he doesn't even know that Habo is albino which could mess things up if he did so that just makes it even more perfect but it may not be easy to keep his secret for to long.

It is crazy how it is very common to see people being killed just because their albino, it was so common that even the police didn't really even care they didn't do much anytime this happened sometimes they didn't do anything at all. But it is so common there in Mzwanna and Davu didn't even believe it because it is just not a things there which is a great thing for Habo but most likely there are still some people out there that will kill albinos, but it is nowhere near as common there then it was where Habo was living before.
