The difference between an acute and chronic injury. An acute injury is an injury that happens suddenly from a fall or break. A chronic injury is an injury that happens over time, usually a result from over use of an area gradually.
An acute injury can consist of being poorly tackled and then falling on your arm, this will result in an acute break of the bone. Chronic injury could be that if you squat with a poor posture this will result in overuse of one area. Theo

Overuse injuries are chronic because chronic injuries happen over a long period of time therefore doesn't happen instantly like acute. Overuse happen because you use the muscle to much over a period of time meaning they are chronic for example golfers elbow.

a fracture is a break in the bones. it is caused by a fall or direct hit or kick. the difference between a open fracture and a closed fracture is an open fracture is when the bone pierces the skin for an example open fractures usually happens in car crashes an high impact injuries. a closed fracture is a break but the skin is still intact and hasn't pieces the skin an example of this would be a broken wrist from falling over in football. you can help an open fracture by covering up the wound and applying pressure until you have got to the hospital. you can help a closed fracture by applying ice packs and waiting to get to the hospital to allow an x-ray and a cast to help heal the bones.
