One important thing to know is that the Burmese python is an amazing animal.  It is a huge beast!  It is one of the largest snakes in the world.  According to page 44, they can weigh up to 200 pounds, "grow up to 23 feet long," and be "as round as a telephone pole."  Also, they are native to Southeast Asia.  The video showed me that they like grassy, marshy lands, and warm and humid climates.  I can infer that this is a big reason why it's flourishing in the Florida everglades, because the climate is similar to Southeast Asia.  Lastly, people like to have these snakes as pets.  Page 44 explained that the snakes' beautifully patterned skin, docile temperment, and rapid growth make them a popular pet.  Just do not let them grab you around the neck!

From what the text states the rules are that “The hunter who bags the  biggest snake gets 1,000 dollars and the hunter who bags the most snakes gets 1,500 dollars”. Also The hunt goes on from January 12 to February 10. Hopefully the people of the Everglades get rid of the pythons.

People are killing the python's, On page 45 paragraph 3 it says People are killing python's for money. These snakes are dangerous!

According to page 45.What do you recieve when you win the Python Challenge?On page 45 its says,that you can win a grand prize of $1,500 awarded to the person who kills the most pythons and $1,000 whoever bags the largest snake.The invasion of the Burmese Python.According to page 44,They hunt and kill them and learn all about the pythons.They aren't really going away but some are.Would you be scared if you saw a python in the wild??

         

They do not belong in the florida everglades.The text showed me,  these kind of snakes are an invasive species with no natural predators.The burmese python preys on small mammals. Within the text, i found that they have been wiping out small mammals like bobcats, opossums, raccoons, and many kinds of birds.These killing machines have very effective means on killing their prey. These predators have no venom, but they have chemical receptors in their tongues so they can hunt in the dark. Also, these large snakes have back curving teeth, means when the prey struggles, it just sinks further into its prey. These snakes are taking over, and it's becoming a BIG issue.

burmese python challenge is being held in Florida on Jan.12 and it is the first- ever python challenge , the challenge is to hunt and kill these giant beast's , on page 45 it says “ the winner will get $1,500 it will be awarded in two divisions. and if you also have your python hunting permit ” 

The burmese python challenge is going on for a certain amount of days according to page 45 it says “ for 30 days people armed with guns will be hunting these giant beast’s and will be roaming Florida everglades.”
and the challenge started when these giant snakes started to appear in the Florida's everglades

Another amazing fact about the Burmese python is it also says on page “44” “it is as long as a telephone pole and as big around as the middle of  that pole.The Burmese python is carnivore a meat eater known  for eating small species of animals . All through The Burmese python makes a pretty great pet  to some people but like with any pet owner you have to be responsible but some owners have been just releasing the Burmese python that then turns to  become serious problem and threat for the Everglades.

Sited on page 44, one feature that helps them hunt so well are their large, back curving fangs. Theyo use these to latch onto and sink deeply into their prey. These snakes’ beautifully painted skin has caught the eye of many people, so well, they even keep them as pets. The dangers in this act come when owners underestimate the size and power of their reptiles. The people then release them into the wild. This throws off the ecosystem because these creatures are like machines, growing and hunting and growing and hunting, endangering and lowering the population of many small mammals and even birds.
