Hey everyone. Are you as crazy busy as we are back at UC? I'm looking forward to Spring Break (oops, you didn't hear that)! Anyway, I thought I'd post a challenge I had many years ago working at a new firm. It had to do with the Server Filing System. Everyone had their own way of setting up projects, folders, phases, files, etc. It was chaos! I needed something to keep me sane, so I created a Sample Project folder, organized sub-folders with a cleaned-up version of the office standard, then put sample drawings in with my recommendation for naming convention. It kept me consistent and people began to notice. Eventually, my ordering system was adopted. Folks liked the Sample Project folder as an easy reference guide. It helped for training new people and temporary hires too. Does your office have something like this?
