This connect to us today because there is more food safety. There is now a law that children can't work until they are 14.

Some reforms made during the Progressive Era include: reforms to stop corruption and fraud, women's suffrage, minimum wage, child labor laws, 8 hour work days. It's all thanks to these Muckrakers (and more) - Jacob Riis, a photographer, Ida B. Wells, teacher and journalist, Upton Sinclair, author of The Jungle.

How these reforms and muckrakers connect to today: Ida B. Wells fight for her right to vote, in the long run, has paid off! Women of all races/ethnicities are allowed to vote in elections, lynchings are a crime and aren't as common anymore, and segregation is abolished. Upton Sinclairs activism has paid off too, there are multiple food and preparation laws that prevent spoiled foods and goods being sold to the general public.

Some of the reforms made during the Progressive Era were child labor, minimum wage, womens rights, unsafe working conditions, pollution, political rights and more. Many workers were forced into a tough job that lasted multiple hours each day with no breaks. The work conditions were unsafe and very dangerous for anyone working. Some people who were helpful during the Progressive Era were Muckrakers, Unions, Knights of Labor and more. They were all a big help during this time. They made sure the Progessive Era didn't happen again today.

This connects to today because a lot of the womens rights has changed. For exmaple, women are now able to vote and have more freedom much more today than during the Progessive Era. Today, child labor is illegal and now kids are allowed to work at the age of 14 instead of 10. Work conditions are much more stable and safer. We should be grateful for the ones who fought for our freedom for today. We should thank the mucrakers. Knights of Labor, Unions, and more!

Some reforms made during the progressive era were: food safety laws, laws against child labor, 8 hour work days, more rights for women, and laws to stop political corruption. Because muckrakers like Jacob Riis, Ida B. Wells, and Upton Sinclair were willing to investigate these topics, people's lives were improved back in the Progressive Era and today. People's lives improved because food was made safer, women were able to vote, political corruption became less frequent, and there was more regulation of working conditions in factories. All of these reforms improved quality of life for everyone.

Some reforms made during the Progressive Era include civil service reform, food safety laws, and increased political rights for women and U.S. workers. They connect to our lives today in the evident fact work days are shorter, rights are enforced, food safety is enforced, workers rights are enforced, working conditions are better, etc. Upton Sinclair was a novelist who published a fictional novel regarding the very true horrors he witnessed in a Chicago Meat Factory.

some reforms made during the progressive era are : child labor laws, better hours for work days, women's suffrage, minimum wage change, and stopping fraud. these connect to today because through time, we have evolved and changed and became better in many different ways. for example, in "the jungle" upton sinclair goes deeper into meat factories and how bad they used to be and how toxic they were and how everyone was getting sick and stuff, and now today we are more on top of that kind of stuff and making sure it is safe and healthy what we are feeding people.

Some reforms made during the Progressive Era: Child labor laws, women suffrage, better work hours; the book "The Jungle" had a huge impact in the Progressive Era, it raised awareness of activities happening in the meat grinding industries such as labor, corruption and unclean environment, unions also started increasing such as the "knights of labor" union who were a group of people who protested against corruption; this still affect us today, we still have unions (like the teacher union) who try to create change.

Because of muckrakers like Jacob Riis, Ida B. Wells, and Upton Sinclair where willing to raise awareness about working class difficulties, a few reforms where set into place. some of these reforms are as follows: reforms against child labor, and food safety laws, reforms about corruption and woman's rights, minimum wage, work hours and work conditions. Because all of these problems where brought to light, things like the FDA and Work Unions became a thing. A lot of these types of things are still found in the modern day and because of the foul upbringing of the industrial revolution, we have been able to learn from our mistakes and better our society on our mistakes.

There were quite a few reforms in the Progressive Era. Just naming a few, there was the reform of living conditions a issue made apparent by Jacob Riis, a muckraker who helped bring changes to these conditions. There was also Upton Sinclair, another muckraker and author of 1905 "The Jungle" bringing the harsh food practices done by food distributers. This eventually lead to the creation of things like the FDA, which helped stop those bad practices. This reform really helps us today so that people are getting safe to eat food.
