On June 27, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinard was assasinated by a Serbian nationalist. His name was Gavilb Princip and was part of Black Hand. This was the cause of World War 1.

May 7th 1915: The sinking of the Lusitania

On the day of June 28, 1919 the treaty of versailles was signed. It was a peace treaty that ended WWl. The terms of the treaty stated that Germany had to pay for damages and give up its overseas colonies. They also took the blame for everything.

on January 19, 1917 the British naval intelligence detected a message.They decoded the message and determined that was sent by German Foreign minister Zimmermann. He sent this to the german Ambassador in Mexico, hoping to invade the United States.

On January 31, 1917 German Ambassador to the United States Count Johann von Bernstorff presented U.S. Secretary of State Robert Lansing a note. This note declared Germany's intention to restart unrestricted submarine warfare. They intended to do this the next day.

October 12th, 1915 (The Red Cross Nurse )

On October 12th, 1915, a Red Cross Nurse, Edith Cavell, was killed by shooting by a squad. 16 German soldiers caused her death. The reason she was executed because she helped allied service men escape to safety.

The president of the United States at the time was Woodrow Wilson and he is the one who decided to declare war on Germany.
