Our students had very good experiences and got a lot of information thanks to the activities we have carried out in the food campaign that we have been carrying out within the scope of our e-TWINNING project.Our project students and volunteers learned under what conditions they lived and what they needed in the Stray Animal Rehabilitation Center.

Two of the puppies we fed in the garden of our school were adopted thanks to the work done by our students. Our students experienced the happiness of helping a stray animal and thanked the resident of the neighborhood who adopted it.

We organized an animal feeding event together with Bergama Animal Protection and Survival Association. In cooperation with the association, we donated food to puppies fed and protected by an animal lover in our neighborhood.

We hung the birdhouses we bought from the Bergama District Forestry Directorate on the trees in our school garden. In this way, we hope that the birds will have a warm home. On behalf of our project, we would like to thank our school staff who helped us hang the nests on the trees.

We started a waste food campaign for our street animals in the bussed student cafeteria of our school. Our children collected the extra food that they could not eat for stray animals. Afterwards, we fed our dogs in our school garden with the leftovers collected. This event set an example for all our students. We aimed to make them realize that waste food can be used for street animals.

Okulumuzun taşımalı öğrenci yemekhanesinde sokak hayvanlarımız için atık mama kampanyası başlattık. Çocuklarımız yiyemedikleri fazla yiyecekleri sokak hayvanları için topladılar. Daha sonra okul bahçemizde toplanan artıklarla köpeklerimizi besledik. Bu etkinlik tüm öğrencilerimize örnek oldu. Atık gıdaların sokak hayvanları için de kullanılabileceğini fark etmelerini amaçladık.

We cooperated with Yalova Municipality in order to expand our project and to carry out more professional work. veterinarians from the Veterinary Affairs Directorate came to our school and supported our project. Yalova Municipality Veterinary Affairs Director Erkut Ferhatoğlu answered all the questions of my students. We started a left-over food campaign for our stray animals in the cafeteria of our school. Our children collected the extra food that they could not eat for stray animals. Afterwards, we fed our dogs near our school with the leftovers collected. This activity has set an example for all our students. We aimed to make them realize that waste food can be used for feeding stray animals instead of being thrown.

Kübra Karahanoğlu, Psychological Counselor and Animal Protection Officer at the Yalova Provincial Directorate of National Education visited Yalova Imam Hatip Secondary school for our e-Twinning Project! She had a seminar with our students on how to empathize with stray animals while respecting their rights !

Kübra Karahanoğlu, Psychological Counselor and Animal Protection Officer at the Yalova Provincial Directorate of National Education, said, “Today, we talked with children about how animals trying to survive on the street try to live in difficult conditions and how we can empathize with them while respecting their right to life. I hope that children will be a little more aware of the information they receive from here and carry this awareness into their adulthood and continue their lives by respecting the right to life of all living things. This is our entire goal,” he said.

I presented our e-Twinning Project to other e-Twinners in Yalova. My partners also joined and gave information about our project.
