The houses have weak foundation and unstable windows. The houses are built with unstable materials such as zinc and cardboard. These houses can collapse easily during a natural disaster. Another characteristic of the slum is they have lack of basic services. The lack clean water, electricity and waste disposal. This is due to lack of infrastructure such as water pipe, power lines and waste management facility. Water flow is inconsistent as the pipe is altered.

2) Rural-urban migration. In rural areas, there is lack of job opportunities,famine , war, lack  of medical attention and poor educational facilities. These factors would push them to go to urban areas. In urban areas, there is promise of work, more doctors and hospital, better schooling and further education, perception of exciting city life and political stability. The people are attracted to these factors and migrate from rural areas to urban areas.

2) You only mentioned 1 reason which is the rural-urban migration. push and pull factors are the description and explanation for the reason on rural urban migration. Another reason for the increase in urban population is due to high birth rate in the city.
