I am into " digital class 2.0" in 2 classes . Moreover . in some classes there are LIMs, which are used by some colleagues. As for me, I have welcomed this project because I followed a course to "flip" my teaching and now after some months using this teaching method , I couldn't come back to the traditional and face-to-face method.

Hi, I teach at E. Boggio Lera, a High School in Catania. This is my first time I am using tablets in teaching and I think it amazingly great. Students are very excited of searching a new way of learning and, as for me, a new way of teaching. I strongly hope to enhance students'skills thanks to the use of new technologies. Tablets are a great device to discover new worlds for both teacher's and students.

My school leader has decided to implement teachers' technological skills as well as the didactic approach to the lesson. it means that she has created a technical staff to support those teachers , like me, who want to start a new path in teaching. In particular, I have started using tablets at school only with 2 classes, 1st and 3rd year. Finally, tablets are the useful device to apply a new didactic approach I am using, the "flipped teaching & cooperative learning".

Tablets are the innovative instruments which allow students and teacher's to work in a collaborative way. First of all, they can be divided into groups of 4/5 students who will work using the apps given by the teacher or they found useful to create to fulfill the task. Moreover, the teacher becomes a "mentor", a "coach"helping them during the lesson. In addition to this, he/she can help those students who need more care in understanding the lesson. In this way, teaching can be inclusive where some learners would be neglected in the traditional method. Finally, the adoption of Edmodo allows the teacher to introduce the lesson which is studied at home by the students who can feel their teacher's presence when she makes her own video lessons.

Then I used a ppt presentation to summarize the stylistic characteristics of this old genre. finally , I added a video of a famous medieval ballad "Geordie" sung by a famous italian songwriter , Fabrizio De Andrè.

A strategy to assess group work may be to give students a time limit as the end of their activity. As an example , on Edmodo I 've given tasks they have to work on , but they received a "due date" to deliver their group works. For sure, I've followed their process of elaboration, and, furthermore, I gave them precise roles to each student during the 1st phase of the Learning Scenario.

here , my students have used "storybird " to introduce Shakespeare and "A midsummer night's dream" they have previously seen at the theatre.

Just two weeks ago, I personalised my students ' learning experience of literature . They had to face the study of William Shakespeare. At the beginning of the school year, during our teachers' meeting for planning our didactics and extra - curricular activities, I decided to let my students see a Shakespearean comedy "A midsummer night's dream"at the theatre.
I use EDMODO and before the performance, I gave them to watch a video about the plot and another as an introduction to great playwright.
the following lesson was focussed on:
1- creating groups
2 - giving each group a task: topic and subtopics;
3 - a due date - publication on Edmodo
3 - in each group I gave them the oppurtunity to choose themselves "who makes what" according to their attitudes and skills , so to define each student's role in the group;
4. Apps to be used - ask phase discussed between the students and the teacher - Storybird for the narration, pinnaclesys to make a video about Shakespeare as a poet,
the Globe Theatre produced using Videomaker and Dropbox to be shared with the others.
5 - the process of making
6 - finalising their work before publication on Edmodo.

Whatsapp and gmail.com have been used constantly to keep in touch,to exchange their ideas, to deliver their works,Edmodo has been a useful and worthy app for the final assessment.

It was the first time in my career as a teacher I have never said a WORD to explain a difficult lesson like this one.

STUDENTS THEMSELVES CREATED THEIR OWN LESSONS ON SHAKESPEARE USING THEIR TABLETS

The great challnges for me as a teacher are:
Prepare the lesson: creating my screencast , or looking for videos, presentations, etc. it takes a a long time to prepare it, but once done, I could save them in my blog or in Dropbox for future lessons , previously having adapted them to the students' level.
Assessment/evalutation : it is a great challenge to assess students' works, it needs a preparation before it: the group and the role of each student being part in it, giving them the tasks, evaluating the whole group as work result taking care of the different tasks I gave them
