As we already know, Columbus did not discover the New World, however, he did act as a bridge between the New and Old Worlds. I do believe he made valuable contributions to the world as we know it, but the atrocities that were committed by Columbus and his crew cannot go unrecognized. I believe we should recognize him as a historical figure and learn about his actions as a whole, not just the glorified version.

I think that Columbus should be celebrated because he changed our culture, imagine what our world would be like today without Columbus discovering new things in the new world.

 I thought it was neat that he said you should not go get gold without permission from the governor. I think we should not celebrate him by his self. we should have a day where we celebrate all great explores that change how we live today.

I learned when I was litte that he explored and found America and nothing about the Native Americans so I guess they were teaching lies.I learned during this activity that Coloumbus didn't find the Americas first and he made the Native Americans do slave work but it didn't last long because they all got sick of disease.Then I dont think he should be celebrated but reconized because he did a lot of bad things to the Native Americans like force their religion and made them do work but we also wouln't have the things we do noe like pizza,lasanga,animals and spices.So we should learn every thing that he did because everyone needs to know how we got all of our food,religion and technology then all the bad things he did

Columbus was not he first one to discover the new world and was not very nice to the new world once he made his entry

We should not celebrate because Christopher Columbus started slavery and some pretty bad things. I think we should still recognize him though because he did give us cows, horses, etc.
