    1) this shows that macbeth willingly killed duncan and that it was not up to fate as he did not have any reason to kill duncan other than his need to become king .

    brightness is seen as pure and holy. these lines symbolises how purity and holiness, the sun which in this case is Duncan, that chases the dark thoughts away, is absent to fix all of the unholy occurrences . thus resulting in evil and unnatural things happening after he dies . 

    "i heard the owl scream and the crickets cry"
