It is characterized by the scarcity and irregularity of their precipitations. Temperatures vary depending on the proximity to the sea, wich defines several climatic subtypes: 

- Mediterranean coastline: the rains are concentrated in spring and autumn. The influence of the sea makes the temperatures mid.
- Continental mediterranean: its distance from the coast causes that the thermal amplitude is higher. Winter are colder and summers warmer than in Mediterranena coast.
- Arid Mediterranean: it is a trasnsition between the Mediterranean climate and the desert. Rinfall is scarcer than in other Mediterranean variants and the temperature is warmer.
