That just doesn't make sense. He clearly had issues controlling himself. For example, there was fight that broke out between Kyle and some guy because Kyle found the guy's wallet, but he did consider keeping the wallet. He mentioned he had a hard time controlling his thieving urges.

He seemed to have little or no guidance from his parents or teachers. He makes a new friend Zach, and that doesnt seem to help Kyle at all.
