They have been found in the Pacific Ocean- from Canada to California and Japan. Their red color is nearly invisible in the deep sea and serves to hide the glowing organisms they have eaten. The Bloody-Belly Comb Jellies propel themselves through the water using the hairlike cilia along their iridescent combs.
