Something that confused me was the explanation of their hiding place on page 16,17 and 18. It confused because the map didn’t really make sense to me and her explanation even more as she was adding names that weren’t even in the map.

Something that surprised me is when a 16 year old came up to Anne frank I know that the age gap was probably normal back then, but still the maturity gap is insane that he would even find her attractive in page 8

Some thoughts I’m having while reading is that I feel like she doesn’t understand how dire the situation is I don’t know if it’s just the writing but when I read I feel like she isn’t emotionally distraught especially when she just casually brings up her having a chance being shot on page 21

A connection I’m making with Anne Frank is her taking criticism and her getting bothered by Mrs. Van Dann I personally connect with this because sometimes my mom always criticizes me if I don’t clean the house or wash the dishes or if I let my trash get a little too full or if I play my Xbox. I know my mom isn’t too serious on this based on her tone but it still bothers me that she criticizes my every move.

the signpost I’m noticing is again and again as Anne Frank all she does is talk about Peter and she is very descriptive about him.

It starts at 150 and it goes throughout the rest of her diary I think.

Something that surprised me is that Anne Frank started liking Peter as I feel like it kind of just came out of no where and she barely talked about him in the beginning.

Something that surprised me is that the secret annex never got bombed or get caught in the gunfire especially when Anne brings it up in page 39 and some other pages that I don’t know exactly

Something that confused me is way Peter never really talks or interacted with the people in annex especially as it would feel really lonely just by yourself and in page 184 Anne talks about how if Peter really just needs a friend

Some thoughts and feelings I had while reading is when Anne sometimes talks about random things It feels like a filler in a tv show. She can talk about her being almost robbed and then talks about strawberry’s.

Something that confused me is how Anne talks about nature being beautiful and all that but there’s bombings and people robbing and people dying. So how can the nature be beautiful when that’s all happening

Something that surprised me is the amount of food they had. I don’t remember exactly how much was it but I think it was 1000 something because why do they need that much.

Some thoughts and feeling I’m having is how hard it was living in the annex because imagine having to be quiet the whole time WHICH IS YEARS. I can’t imagine like being locked in a house with people I don’t like. I would go crazy
