In this poem we have 4 stanzas for 5 lines in each, so it`s a quintain.

1st stanza:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
*This stanza introduces the dilemma that every human face, not once, but multiple times in his or her life; the dilemma of choice. By having the character in the poem examine the roads ahead of him, Frost is emphasizing that we all try our best to guess what lays ahead for us in every opportunity.

2nd stanza:
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,'
*Here the main character in The Road Not Taken finally makes a decision and chooses a road that he thinks he believes is better, because it looked like not many people had walked on it before.

3rd stanza:
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
*In this stanza both paths were nearly identical. Lines fourteen and fifteen give us a glimpse of his doubts as he honestly confesses to himself that it's highly unlikely he will come back to travel this other road.

4th stanza:
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
*Here the speaker predicts that one day far into the future, he knows will tell the story of this decision that he is now making. He intends to lie, and claim he took the road that was less traveled (in reality both were equally traveled). Finally, the last line expresses that the individual is also planning to claim that his choice to take this less traveled road made all the difference, in where he will be standing at the time.

In my imagination, every time I read the poem I see a picture of an autumn forest after the leaves have begun to change color. By the way, it is equally accurate to say that the poem is set in the speaker's mind. More specifically, the poem takes place at a spot in the woods at which a road forks into two. The two roads continue on from the fork, but the roads soon pass out of sight as they wind and bend in the undergrowth of the forest. A person standing at the fork can see that one of the roads is a bit grassier than the other, but they are equally strewn with freshly fallen leaves, and in truth, both roads appear to be about equally worn. Then, he finally chooses one road, but while he is already walking there, he looks back at another road with hesitation in his eyes, thinking if he made the right choice and "what if...?".

Memories

 1. My first memory is connected to one of my hardest life choice so far: going to the university where I`m studying now. After I graduated from school I had to choose between just waiting one year and thinking better where to apply, or just enter the university the following year. That`s all because I really didn`t know what I wanted to do in my life and my mind was splitted in two halfs at that time. However, I`ve finally decided not to waste a year and go straight to the university.
 2. The second memory is connected with my granny and grandpa when we went to the forest for picking mushrooms. It was autumn, I remember even, it was November and the weather was really sunny and warm. It was my first time picking mushrooms so I was excited. Everything was fine until I realized I can`t see my granny, neither grandpa, and all I see around me were just trees and paths. I started screaming for them, and luckily they found me very quickly, so it wasn`t really scary, maybe only for the first moment.
 3. One time I was driving back to my hometown in a car. It was evening and a "peak hour". When we got to a big road, that leads from the city I live in, we noticed that there was a huge line of cars standing in a jam. Waiting for them to drive away would`ve taken too long, so we decided to turn back a little bit and take the road "less traveled by". It was a bit bumpy, but there were no cars. So, we successfully passed it and I got home just in time for my mom`s dinner, before it cooled.

The speaker

The speaker is anonymous and has no specified gender, so it`s hard to tell about his background or education. But we can tell about his concerns and feelings a lot. The speaker, faced with a decision between two roads, makes a choice to follow the one that appears less worn and then spends the rest of the poem reflecting on the decision. He is a little bit disappointed that he can not hold on to one way, and in order to gain some things in life, we must let go. The main emotions that the speaker express are hesitation, confusion,
The poem ends with the speaker imagining him or herself in the distant future, reflecting back on the decision and believing that taking the road "less traveled [...] has made all the difference." The poem's ending reveals the speaker to be deeply concerned with the ways in which even small decisions may have far-reaching implications. However, by acknowledging in lines 9-12 that his or her decision was based on incomplete information, the speaker also acknowledges that the consequences of these decisions can rarely be predicted or controlled, and that it's often difficult to understand the meaning of one's choices in a broader context, even a long time after those decisions have been made. After the speaker have chosen the road, he sighs with relief. The poem's last line " and that has made all the difference " asserts the speaker's confidence in the choice he has made. His only faint regret would be that he would not be able to get all the other opportunities that he left on the second road. But if you read the poem carefully, he goes out of his way that both paths were just as fair. Here are three quotes:

“Then took the other, as just as fair,”

“And both that morning equally lay”

“Had worn them really about the same,”

The poem highlights the dilemma that every human faces, not once, but multiple times in his or her life; the dilemma of choice. People will always wonder about the “what ifs” and the “could have beens” of the other opportunities that we left behind. Personally, I think that our whole life is a product of choices we make every day, every minute. After it came to me, I realized that there are no situations in blind - there`s always a way out. And reading this poem helped me to clarify this in my mind.
The poem simply means life is all about choices. You can't know the future so don't fret over what other choices you could have made. Make your choices in the here and now and get on with living. You're going to have to deal with the consequences either way. In "The Road Not Taken," Frost does not indicate whether the road the speaker chose was the right one. Nonetheless, that is the way he is going now, and the place he ends up, for better or worse, was the result of his decision. Therefore, we shouldn`t blame ourselves for making bad or wrong decisions, because you never know what hidden opportunities this choice has for you. And, also, I think, people never take wrong "turns", because depending on the situation that we need to solve at the concrete moment in our life, we always weigh pros and cons in our head before making a decision. Yes, it can seem pointless, when you`ll think about it in the future looking back, but at that moment in the past, that was the exact right decision because you made it.
I think, that this poem is worth reading for everyone. who`s going through hard times, or can`t make an important decision. After reading it, you can feel relief that you are not the only one making these choices every day, and even if you regret "choosing the wrong way", you will always have plenty of choices to make and many opportunities to try, just don`t give up, it`s normal for us to make mistakes and you can always fix the problem.
