Also, people caught certain diseases from the Oregon Trail. One of them was cholera. Cholera is bacteria that would get on your food. When someone eats the food it will flood your intestines with excess water. Another disease was diphtheria, diphtheria was an airborne bacterial disease that would be in your throat and nose and it would make it hard to breathe.
