Carbon Footprint by Davey https://padlet.com/minecartskid/4ldqi3r3wcfv en-us 2018-02-16 18:02:49 UTC 2018-02-16 18:26:56 UTC hello@padlet.com Reflection On My Result minecartskid https://padlet.com/minecartskid/4ldqi3r3wcfv/wish/232449132 My carbon footprint is high (122%) compared to the two other people in the assignment (72% and 35%).  The reason behind this is that the other people go to extreme lengths to reduce their carbon footprint.  For example, both of the other families live in an apartment which mean that they live in a smaller space than I (detached house).  Smaller spaces use less energy to heat and cool.  Furthermore, the 35% family has a solar panel or two providing energy and my family has none.  Both other families waste food little to no food and my family throws away 30% of our food.  Both of the families are vegetarian while my family eats meat regularly (although not at every meal.)  They both eat out (restaurants) little to none and my family eats out once or twice a week.  Also, my family uses our car(s) to go to school, work, and run errands and the other families walk or use public transportation.  My family has a lot of space to improve our carbon footprint - we could walk to school, get solar panels, and much more.

]]> 2018-02-16 18:25:23 UTC https://padlet.com/minecartskid/4ldqi3r3wcfv/wish/232455058 Changes minecartskid https://padlet.com/minecartskid/4ldqi3r3wcfv/wish/232455668 There are several changes that I could make to reduce my carbon footprint.  My family could use less air conditioning and heat.  I don’t think it would be a big deal if our house was slightly warm in the summer and slightly cool in the winter.  Also, I could use public transportation (school bus) to go to school instead of riding in my car.  My family could eat out less.  In particular, I could pack a lunch for school instead of buying a lunch.  Finally, my family could buy a solar panel to produce energy for our house.
