🏠Place: at Homerton College, University of Cambridge.

🎙️Theme： Supporting Learners and Supporting Learning

👬Who: Doctoral students and early career researchers to present and discuss their work.

This year we have keynotes on this theme from Dr Siân Jones, Dr Umar Toseeb, and the 43rd Vernon-Wall lecture will be delivered by Professor Anne Edwards.

We would be delighted to accept submissions for the conference on the theme of Supporting Learners and Supporting Learning, as well as submissions concerning the psychology of education more generally.

I usually go to ISPA, international school psychology association. Tends to be a mixture of academics, EP trainers and practitioner psychologists. The country varies each year. I was going to go this year but the country borders on Belarus and Russia - so maybe not.

ISPA - International School Psychology Association

This started as a USA initiative but quickly became international and is aimed at a mix of researchers and practitioners to explore how psychology, and the profession of school/educational psychology can support schools.

The conference moves from country to country each year, usually in July. It is a great place for a first presentation as the audience tends to be very enthusiastic and clap profusely.

There is also a small conference support fund called the Cal Catterall Fund - I used to be the Chair of the fund.

Well worth going, partly because the American’s use the conference as a means of getting tax deductions for a holiday and organise many cultural excursions. Of course it is also worth going for networking opportunities and future collaboration.
