Welcome to Aachen at Pius-Gymnasium.

We are looking forward to a wonderful week with you and our other guests from Italy, France, Spain and the USA.

Together we want to explore Aachen, Cologne and Brussels and carry out joint project work. We hope for eventful and exciting encounters and that our friendships will grow and last.

• 7:47h.: Arrival at Aachen central station

• We need to walk to the school's precincts. Mind your luggage here. Make sure that you can carry it for about a 30-minutes-walk.

• Have a sound breakfast at school. It will be definitely better than on the Nightjet. So perhaps stay a bit hungry.

• We will show you around the school and do some activities.

• 12:10h: Meet your partners and host families.

Your German partner will organise this first day in Aachen and come up with an attractive programme for you.

* 7 a.m.: Meeting point in Eupen (Belgium) at the railway

station

* 7:17 a.m.: Departure for Brussels - arrival 8.55 a.m.

* 10 a.m.: Visit to the House of European History in the

European Quarter of Brussels

* 12:30 pm: Walk to the city centre to the Grand Place

* 1 p.m.: Refreshments and exploration of the historic centre

of Brussels around the Grand Place in small groups

* 14:45 pm: Meeting in front of Bruxelles-Central railway

station

* 15:01 pm: Departure for home - arrival in Eupen: 16:42

This will be a day rich in discoveries, interesting, but also exhausting. Unfortunately, the Belgian railway was unable to provide us with any other train connections.

* 8am - 9.30am: Welcome in the assembly hall, information

about the programme, group photo

* 9:45 - 12:45: Work in the workshops

* Lunch break: The German hosts spend the lunch break

with their partners and walk with them to the meeting

point in the city centre.

* 14:45: Meeting point at the town hall steps / town hall

square

* 15h: Start of the guided tour of the historic town hall, then

release to the host families

* 8am - 12.45pm: Meeting in the workshops to work

together.

* Lunch break: Individual organisation by the hosts with

their guests. The host students accompany their guests

into the city centre.

* 14:45: Meeting point at Aachen Cathedral

* 15h: Guided tour of Aachen Cathedral. Afterwards release

to the host family.

* 8:45 am: Meeting at Aachen Central Station

* 9:18h departure to Cologne - arrival at 10:12h

* 10:15h - 11h: Cathedral exploration

* 11h - 12.15h: Walking tour of Cologne's historic city centre

and visit to the Chocolate Museum:

* 12:15h - 13.30h: Guided tour of the museum

* Lunch break and free time: The Pius students organise

lunch with their guests in small groups and show them

other highlights of the centre of Cologne

* 15:30h: Meeting point in front of the entrance to the main

railway station

* 15:47h: Return journey - arrival in Aachen at 16:41

* 8am - 12.30pm: Meeting in the workshops; then dismissal

to the host families for lunch.

* 16:45h: Meeting at the school

* 17h: Start of the farewell event:

-17h: Presentation Keep Fit in the sports hall

- 17:45: Continuation of the presentations in the new

canteen

- Afterwards: Social gathering with drinks and snack buffet

* 19h: Charity concert (no donations expected :))

In the morning you will take part in a learning arrangement by the EU as one of your last activities together with your hosts. Afterwards, you will have the afternoon off to do some shopping, packing whatsover. Then it will be time to say goodbye - see you again in Aachen!
