Disadvantages- Some of the laws seem outdated to the public. The law can be complex and as a result can be ignored.

There are many websites that breach the copyright laws. Kodi is an example of streaming movies and television programmes that haven't been produced in the UK yet.
The public have the right to their own privacy especially in the media.
If a famous person doesn't want a story to be published in the media they can have a super injunction, which stops the press reporting the persons private life.

The Joanne Yates Case is where a man was wrongly accused of murdering Joanne Yeates. 
The man wrongly accused was called a monster and villie when he didn't even murder her. This shows that the media can sell story that aren't true giving the person worry. He was perceived as a murder monster that had to change his identity to live his life. 1. Conflict of Interest; in the BBC can't be bias. The programmes have to have balanced views of the whole show.  This impacts the audience because it has equal views for both parties. An example of a television show called Newsnight  which shows two government parties.
2. Still Photography- Fair uses; parody, education. This will impact the audience showing the update of the news. A programme that uses this is Have I Got News for You, this uses sources of the newspapers in a comedic scenario.
3. Reporting Stats- Avoid taking stats at face value. the facts must be accurate. Must help audience understand the stats to make an accurate view on it.
