近日戴助理校長在其私人社交媒體發表之言論引起了社會大眾各階層的關注。從社交網絡到敝校的同學、家長、校友之間討論，繼而一眾主流傳媒與網媒的轉載與報導、再到前特首、立法局議員、警察職方協會、教協、網絡作家等的多番評論與回應，從下而上，內至外，傳遍全港各界。我們作為真道書院的教職員，十分關注此事，更關心的是我們學生的情緒和心靈。

自從政府推出逃犯條例後，我們的孩子已飽受事件影響，他們困惑、不安、彷徨、擔憂、悲傷、憤怒，更有些因為政見不同而與家人爭執不和。現在因為外界高度關注學校老師的言論，我們的學生頓成驚弓之鳥，他們迷失、掙扎、矛盾、瑟縮、顫抖、無助。正苦陷水深火熱的他們，需要愛、保護、鼓勵和支持。

有關事件發展到此時此刻，我們的學生頓時被捲入漩渦之中，本來天真可愛質樸的孩子，卻變得驚慌失措，身心飽受煎熬；孩子們的父母，個個含辛茹苦，他們不奢求望子成龍，只希望孩子能健康快樂地成長，如今此際卻要看著孩子苦陷深淵幽谷，內心何其難受和悲痛？

我們明白社會人士同樣都愛護我們的孩子，才會關注戴助理校長的言論，可是我們教師相信此刻我們的學生最需要的是聆聽和安慰，而不是互相攻伐、指罵和爭吵。

我們信任敝校的校董會與管理層能秉持公義和教育的專業，根據敝校既有制度，公平和公正地處理戴助理校長事件。

因此，我們懇請社會人士信任和尊重教育的專業自主，尊重學校處理方式和決定，還我們的孩子一個寧静的校園。
