•After the II World War, Casoria had a huge expansion because of a reconstruction program and public aids for the economic development of the Southern Italy.

•In a few years it changed by rural village to an important industrial pole.

The Basilica of San Mauro in Casoria is certainly the most important and ancient sacred monument in the city. 

There is ”A gold house” in the ancient coat of arms of the Comune that it is in the Church of San Mauro

According to this legend, the castle takes its name from the famous Latin poet Virgil who would have hidden, inside a cage, an enchanted egg.

The egg would have been put by the ‘magician’ poet inside a glass pitcher full of water protected by an iron cage and hung on a heavy oak beam, then placed in a room in the basements of the castle.

Until now, nobody has never found the magic egg.

The legend tells that, until the egg had not broken, the city and the castle would have been protected against every sort of calamity.

The Royal Palace and Piazza Plebiscito is the centre of Neapolitan life, today and in the past. 

The Romans in fact in epoch Augusteas equipped the city with road galleries. 

The burrows of the aqueduct were often issued in all the directions, with the purpose to feed fountains and residences . 

There are many statues of saints in the church

In the past it was the centre of the French Revolution but today Piazza del Plebiscito is an important place for many events and concerts.  Many musicians have preformed here such as, Sting, Elton John and Bruce Springsteen just to name a few.  The New Year's Eve concert takes place here every year.
