I usually never watch teenager-love films. It is just not my type of genre. However, it was interesting to see a film from the perspective of a less stereotipical protagonist.
Seeing the struggles of a bisexual protagonist wasn`t just a nice variation from usual plots, it was also fascinating so see the struggles bisexual students have to conquer with. 
I have some contacts and friendships with some people of the LGBTQ+ community. However, we usually don`t talk about such aspects so much. They appear to live like anyone else. However, in some other areas or countries, the people aren`t as supportive as they are here in my Bubble. 
Being a teenager can be stressfull enough. However, to this fact because you are afraid of the possibe responses must be real nightmare they have to face everyday.
You can really feel with the protagonist, so it was nice to see that everything turned out good at the end and that Simon was accepted.

-> Gay people aren`t shown as anything special. Simon is just a normal boy. He doesn´t act stereotypically different than other teenagers (in the Video: the hysterical gay Man). The only "difference" is, that he is gay
->However, the movie still shows the double standarts in society. Simon is does not want to reveal that he is gay, because he is afraid of the possible responses of his firends

The main message the movie wants to present to the audience is that it is absolutely okay to have different sexualities. However, through the plot, it looks like Simon keeps thinking, that he has to hide it. 
When I think about my own time at a teenager, I always was afraid to differ from the standart. Today I am laughing about many of these aspects. I accpeted that it is completely okay and normal to differ. This should also be accepted to any form of sexuality.
