He can shadow his mentor and have some informal discussions. We will meet informally to go over the "stuff" then just give time to take it all in. He can go through the supply closet and make a list of needs. We will provide a breakfast or most likely a lunch for him and his mentor.

The school will have a welcome breakfast on August 1st on our first workday. 
I've already met with the new teachers individually this week to give them tour and show them their classrooms. 
Both new teachers are paired with veteran staff members since they are not beginning teachers.

Other folks discuss their processes too (book keeper, data manager, etc). Then we give them a lot of supplies etc and let them work in their rooms. New teachers attend a New Teacher (early college) training on instructional methods and expectations.  We feed the new teachers as they sit through and listen to others come in and talk about processes (financial, copier/fax, etc.).

Our new teachers start out with some operational information from the Bookkeeper and Data Manager and then work with a member of their department or their mentor in their rooms. Wealso provide them with a tour and lunch. We spend the afternoon talking about school expectations and providing them with information about how our school works.
