The Aleuts interact with their environment in many ways. One way they interact with the environment is by hunting. They hunted whales, walruses, seals, and sea lions. They used stone, bones, and ivory to make tools. They also made other objects like Oil lamps.
The Aleuts lived in small huts dug into the ground. They would crawl in to a small sleeping space where they could also make fires.

In 2000 BC, the earliest Aleuts came from the Alaskan mainland to the Aleutian Islands. They situated on the seashore next to fresh water. They lived there until this day.
Prospectors searching for gold in Alaska came to the Aleutian islands. This disrupted the Aleuts daily lives, and their population dwindled. The time when Russian Prospectors came and tried to take over and establish trade the population was around 20,000.

The Aleutian islands are located in the northern part of a ring of active volcano's called the Ring of Fire. All of the islands have volcanic origin and there is even active volcano's still there. Other tribes or groups of people competed for fur from Blue Foxes. Then Russians came and set up rule in the Aleutian Islands. The region changed when Russians came because they used the fur for their clothes. So the population of Blue Foxes changed drastically with the coming of Russians and other societies like the Europeans.
<figure class="attachment attachment-preview" data-trix-attachment="{"contentType":"image","height":191,"url":"https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTP4eFQI1N4OkmF_0v0bUaAPhD8cFew5h9eE4Cds1JXD06gUhk0Ow:https://retrieverman.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/blue-arctic-fox.jpg","width":264}" data-trix-content-type="image" data-trix-attributes="{"caption":"This is a blue fox.

The 'government' of the Aleuts was very loose, but generally you would have villages that the natives would live in, but there was no clear leader. They did have a status system, with the wealthiest individuals getting the most control, and the Eskimo slaves getting the least power. An example of one of these villages is Agdaagux. In English it's name is King Cove.
Geography-wise, the Aleutian Islands are surrounded by water (they're islands), but they almost share a border with Alaska. The Aleuts did have territory on the Alaskan Peninsula, but it was restricted to the southern border with the Pacific Ocean. One important island to the Aleuts is Unalaska Island, because this is the location of their first church.
Most of the Aleuts' trade consisted of materials they had a lot of, such as walrus ivory and obsidian. However, eventually tyhey imported food and tools, and they became reliant on those. One location where they would hunt walrus and whale was Volcano Bay on Unalaska Island.
Before the Russians all but destroyed traditional Aleut culture, they believed in a religion that used animism, with the spirits of different objects playing a major role. the specialists of their religion (think priests of Christianity) were shamans, and the shamans would host religious ceremonies.According to encyclopedia.com, these ceremonies would be held in the winter, with dancing and singing in the night being used to honour deceased relatives and for entertainment.

This is an Aleut ceremony in action.
